Today’s Supreme Court ruling in “303 Creative LLC v. Elenis” is deeply concerning for LGBTQ+ rights. It sets a dangerous precedent by allowing creative businesses to refuse to provide certain products and services based on personal disagreements with the customer’s message. This decision not only legalizes discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals but also opens the door for broader discrimination against marginalized groups in all aspects of public accommodations and daily life.

We believe in the principles of equality and inclusivity for all. While the First Amendment protects freedom of religion, businesses open to the public should serve everyone on equal terms. Upholding public accommodation laws ensures the protection of individual civil rights and fosters a society that values diversity and acceptance.

Flagstaff Pride remains committed to advancing LGBTQ+ rights and will continue working alongside the community and advocacy groups to push for comprehensive non-discrimination laws at both the state and federal levels. We stand firm in our belief that every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, deserves equal treatment and respect in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

Together, we will strive for a society that embraces diversity, supports equality, and celebrates the rights and freedoms of all individuals.
