Flagstaff Pride Welcomes Zane Jacobs as New President, Continuing a Legacy of Service and Dedication

Flagstaff, AZ – September 27, 2023 – Flagstaff Pride is thrilled to introduce Zane Jacobs as its new President. Zane, a dedicated figure in the Northern Arizona community, brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to the position, having previously served as Vice President and as a devoted board member in the organization’s leadership.
Zane was born on the Diné reservation and grew up in Flagstaff incorporating his rich cultural heritage of Diné and Jewish backgrounds. This unique combination gives Zane’s awareness to DEIJ (diversity, equity, inclusion, justice).
Zane Jacobs has been a prominent figure in the Northern Arizona community, known for his passion for service and volunteering. For the past 7 years, he has volunteered with the Shadows Foundation, an organization providing assistance to people and families affected with life-threatening illness, and in 2019 accepted a position on their board. His journey with Flagstaff Pride began as a devoted board member, where he tirelessly worked towards the organization’s mission of supporting, uniting, and strengthening Flagstaff LGBTQIA2S+ community. His dedication and leadership qualities were soon recognized, leading to his appointment as Vice President.
As President, Zane Jacobs aims to build upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessors and continue the organization’s strategic plan. With a deep understanding of the community’s needs and a proven track record of advocacy, Zane is poised to lead Flagstaff Pride into a new era of growth and impact.
Zane Jacobs expressed his excitement about his new role, saying, “I am honored to step into the role of President for Flagstaff Pride. This organization holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the positive changes it has brought to our community. I am committed to carrying forward the legacy of those who came before me and to work tirelessly for the betterment of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Together, we will continue to promote acceptance, inclusivity, and equity in Flagstaff and beyond.”
Flagstaff Pride is also pleased to introduce board members with updated roles such as a new vice president, secretary and treasurer.
